We have all heard the expression "To get a job, you need experience. The only way to get experience is to have a job."

The Inside Wireman Apprenticeship offered at the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee, will give you a good paying job with great benefits while you are getting free technical training at the same time.

The finest electrical workers receive their training through the National Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee of NECA and the IBEW.  It is a model education partnership that produces the best trained and knowledgeable electrical apprentices and journeymen in the country.

What are the Benefits of Electrical Apprenticeship and Training?

  • Safer working conditions

Work with experts, with years of experience.

  • Advancement Opportunities

As Apprentices advance through the 10 period levels of the program, the wage rate (based on percentage of the Journeyman wireman rate) increases with each period level.

  • Guaranteed pension benefits

Benefits will start after the apprentice has obtained 2000 hours of on-the-job training. The benefits are funded through the employer.

  • Earn While You Learn

Joining an IBEW electrical apprenticeship program will allow you to work as you train. We will help you earn a living, gaining valuable on the job experience while you take classes to satisfy the education requirements required to start your career as a licensed electrician. Starting pay, (no experience necessary) starts at $15.20 per hour plus benefits.

  • College Credit

Available to the graduates of the inside wireman apprenticeship. 47 college credits are issued by the American Council on Education (ACE). These credits can be transferred towards continued college education.

  • Paid Health Insurance

Medical Insurance is provided by the industry. This means you won't be seeing a deduction from your paycheck to pay for your insurance premiums. Health Insurance will start after the apprentice has obtained 2000 hours of on-the-job training. The Health Insurance is  funded through the employer at the rate of $6.35 per hour.

  • Career With a Future

Over eighty-five percent of our apprentices complete the apprenticeship program and have meaningful careers as highly paid as well as skilled journeymen electrical workers.
